Chassiron Gt 38

Condition & Equipment

The boat has undergone laborious restoration. The deck construction was completely renewed, a new teak deck was laid on deck, osmosis protection, the engine was rebuilt, new cushions for the salon. The teak on deck is in perfect condition and the varnish on the outside was renewed 2020/2021.

End of 2019, the engine got a new injector pump, new fuel pump, new injectors and a new fuel hose. Additionally a second set of refurbished injectors as well as two used but working alternators and many more spare parts are available. The boat has a main tank and a day tank for diesel fuel installed.

In early 2021 new instruments were installed for wind, depth, speed and water temperature. All data is displayed on the freely configurable B&G Triton² multi function display. All instruments including the autopilot communicate via the NMEA 2000 data bus, which allows an easy integration of more instruments. For the anchor windlass new relays as well as comfortable foot switches on the foredeck were installed. To save energy LED lights are in use, there are multiple 12V sockets and USB sockets throughout the boat. If connected to shore power there are also 230V sockets available. There is hot & cold water and to save on freshwater a foot pump for seawater is available at the kitchen sink.

In February 2021 the antifouling (seajet shogun 033 self polishing black) was last renewed and the hull was painted (International Perfection undercoat white, International Perfection Mediterranean white).

Welcome below deck

The inside of the vessel is kept in mahogany and conveys a warm and comfy feeling. Down the companionway you have a big bunk (197 x 115 cm) to starboard, big enough for two people. On port you find a locker and the little tool shed which also has the daytank installed inside. In between is the engine box with excellent access to the engine.

Further inside the boat you find the nav station to your left and the galley to your right. The salon is spacious and comfy and can also serve as a (double)bunk. There is standing height throughout the boat (190 to 196 cm).

Forward you find the (wet)head with an electric toilet and a standing shower. The toilet flushes with seawater but can easily be converted to freshwater flush. There is also a big hanging locker and in the bow you have a spacious v-berth (200 x 200 cm). The inside layout is smart with no wasted space and a lot of storage.

Ready to sail around the world

The Chassiron is a solidly built boat, constructed for worldwide cruising. The hull is thick and strong (2 cm), the boat sails surprisingly well and does so in a very secure fashion.

The installed autopilot is absolutely reliable and always keeps the boat on course even in harsh conditions. For longer passages you have multiple jerrycans on board to stock up on fuel and freshwater.
